For people with a disability, starting their own business can be a way to find independence in the workforce. The Community Disability Alliance Hunter, in association with the Hunter Business Centre, is holding a workshop in Maitland about how to get started in business.

The workshop will cover the benefits of people with a disability working for themselves. It will also be a chance to meet people who have done it and are now running successful, sustainable businesses.
Guest speakers:
• Alec and Georgia Warren from Shred This who have recently established a paper shredding and disposal business
• Michael Monaghan and Fraser Berrick from FrazMic who offer shopping services
• Jacob Hughes, a disability presenter and magazine publisher.
• William O’Neil, a life coach.
The workshop is on Wednesday October 19 from 10am – 12pm at Club Maitland City.
