The gig at the Rutherford venue will be the first of two Hunter dates in her latest tour – she will play Lizotte’s in Newcastle on Saturday.
Matthews is known for hits such as Token Angels, Let's Kiss (Like Angels Do), and The Day You Went Away.

She began her career as a backing singer for Melbourne outfit Models, with Kate Ceberano, and has had multiple top 20 albums and singles during her solo career.
She has worked with industry icons including Glenn Shorrock, Jimmy Barnes, Richard Clapton and Icehouse.
Bradford Hotel general manager Tiffani Muir said the venue was trying to book a big Australian act once a month. She said the focus would be on country music artists.
“We started with Beccy Cole, now we’ve gone to Wendy Matthews,” she said.
There were still about 100 tickets available for Friday’s show as of Wednesday.
