Joining a sports team gives kids a sense of belonging and the opportunity to make new friends outside of school. This can provide a much-needed social support as they grow.
Sport can also be a great force in driving community spirit and to forge strong bonds between local business and members of the community.
Tony Hammond, owner of Morpeth’s historic River Royal Inn, is a fanatical sports fan and regularly played sport from a young age.
He is passionate about supporting local sports teams and associations and is eager to engage with teams who might be on the look out for sponsorship during 2017.
“Sport has always been a big part of my life, albeit that I watch far more than I play these days. I think it’s important for local business to show their support and contribute in bringing communities together by supporting local teams and their players,” said Hammond.
With its recent renovations, a brand new menu and extensive wine list, the River Royal Inn offers a great option for team functions or end of season celebrations with the opportunity to book parties or functions for private and corporate bookings.
“We are keen to get behind the sporting fraternity and hope teams will get in touch to explore how we can work together,” he added.
