From start ups through to sole traders, and franchises as well as small, medium and large organisations, the 2017 Hunter Region Business Excellence Awards Finalists showcase the businesses thriving within the valley.
More than 40 businesses from Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and the Hunter Valley will compete for the awards.
There are 18 categories as a part of this year’s celebrations of the region’s business excellence and success.
The awards are the initiative of Hunter Region Business Hub.
This year, the not-for-profit organisation turned 25 and celebrated its milestone with a rebrand to Hunter Region Business Hub, The Hub.
The Hub’s manager Kerry Hallett said she was pleased with the quality of entries received across the categories this year.
“We received more than 100 nominations and pared it down to 60 Finalists.
“They are exceptional businesses in their overall operations, service, products, presentation and customer service,” she said.
“Kudos to the them and their businesses. Being a Finalist is a great opportunity to reflect on your achievements and to showcase your business to the community.”

“In our 24th year, we are the Hunter Valley’s longest running awards.
“They continue to demonstrate the resilience, confidence and professionalism in our local economy.”
The awards recognise Hunter businesses that provide outstanding products and services.
Entrants were required to demonstrate a high level of business excellence and customer experience in their application.
An incognito call or visit from one of the three judges is a crucial part of the process and leads to the final selection across the 18 categories and one major award.
Winners of the 2017 Hunter Region Business Excellence Awards will be announced at the Awards Gala Dinner at Cessnock Leagues Club on Friday, September 22.
