The Bulldogs, who reappointed coach Ron Griffiths at the end of the season, have also secured the signatures of versatile back Kade Hardy and tough as nails forward Brady Hammond.
In a great sign for the club, 2017 first grade debutants Brock Hollis, Reid Alchin and Jackson Cluff are also staying at the club.
The Bulldogs have yet to announce any key recruits from outside the club, but securing the bulk of their 2017 squad was a priority.
Cullen, who played at five-eighth, hooker and lock throughout 2017, is a strong favourite to be named the Bulldogs captain in 2018.
Griffiths was full of praise for Cullen’s leadership in a testing second half of the season when halves combination the Walkers brothers left the club, and skipper Terence Seu Seu was unavailable through injury.
Hammond was among the club’s most consistent performers with fellow forwards Michael Steele and Brock Gilmour. Hardy had a great start to the season until his year was cut short by injury.
Hollis, Alchin, Cluff and Jordy Mitchell all made impressive starts to their first grade careers making their debuts in 2017.
Cluff and Hollis are set to be part of the Bulldogs backline for years to come and Alchin and Mitchell both made strong impressions in the forwards.
The Bulldogs club’s presentation night is at Kurri Kurri Bowling Club on October 13. Tickets are $60 which includes a two-course meal and $30 drink voucher.
