With the promise of a welcomed return to its roots of winemaking and plans to bring back the brandy still for the first time in 80 years, there’s much for locals and visitors to love about the recent purchase.
The re-opening of the Baume Cafe on November 1 means there’s a stylish day in store for Melbourne Cup Day on November 7, with an afternoon of fine food and entertainment aptly titles ‘Giddy-up Horses in the Hunter.
Ladies and gents are invited to put on their race day best and indulge in canapes and sparkling on arrival, followed by an exquisite lunch from the spring menu, including mains, sides and desserts.
With the usual race day delights of sweeps and prizes on offer for best dressed and of course a live screening of all the races, the day is shaping up to be one to remember. Large and small groups are welcome.
Established in 1834 as a vineyard, winery and distillery the site has been a key wine producing home for some of Australia’s red and white table wines.
The duo will operate under the original name ‘Ben Ean’ and will showcase a range of Hunter Valley wines.
Commenting on the recent sale, Brian McGuigan said,
