That’s right, David Jones is coming to Maitland and Fairfax Media took a sneak peek tour of the Hunter’s newest department store.
The high-end franchise will open at Stockland Green Hills next month as part of stage four of the centre’s redevelopment.
The single-level store will feature fashion for men, women and kids including personalised shopping suites for both men and women.
The shopping suites will be used by the store’s personal shoppers, which customers can book in with for free online and in store.
“This is a downtown service we offer in some of our CBD locations that we’re bringing to regional areas like Maitland,” David Jones NSW North regional manager Ben Webster said.
Some of the fashion brands available instore include Seed, SABA, MINKPINK, Country Road and Witchery, which have been chosen specifically for the Green Hills store through customer feedback, analytics and surveys.
“We’ve done a lot of work behind the scenes with both local and international brands, which are tailored to the local market,” Mr Webster said.
“We’re bringing the best of David Jones to the local community.
“Customers no longer need to go anywhere else but Green Hills to get their favourite brands.”
The store also incorporates an extensive cosmetic section, including brands such as MAC, L'Occitane, Lancome, Estee Lauder, Clinque and Dermalogica, and there are two beauty rooms for skincare therapies and makeup sessions.
“They’re generally booked out well in advance,” Mr Webster said.
A cafe has also been built within the store in collaboration with chef Neil Perry.
About 200 staff will be called in to start stocking the store from March 12 in time for the grand opening 10 days later.
The first 100 customers through the doors on the 22nd will receive a free gift bag.
There will also be a David Jones ambassador in store on the day, but it has not yet been announced who that will be.
Stage four of Stockland Green Hills will also include Timezone, JB Hi-Fi and Harris Scarfe.
