Attendees enjoyed Vietnamese, German sausages, churros, gozleme, burgers, baked potatoes, Thai, paella and loads more.
There was cooking demonstrations, fresh produce markets, taste testings and enough exhibitors to justify wearing pants with an elastic waist.
This year the festival featured a range of new elements including a ‘smart gardening system’, Celebrity chef Matt Golinski and a heavy emphasis on the slow food movement.
“We’re really lucky to have Matt coming this year,” Maitland Council’s events curator Amelia Atkinson said prior to the event.
“I know he’s really excited to be a part of it and his close connection to the Slow Food movement means he’ll work closely with Slow Food Hunter Valley over the weekend. I know they are especially excited to have him in Maitland.”
