Cullen, the sole Coalfields player in the team, has been named in the number 18 jersey for the June 17 clash at Pizzey Park on the Gold Coast, with the match to be played as the curtain-raiser to the Q-Cup clash between hosts Burleigh and Sunshine Coast.
It comes after a wholehearted display by the Kurri forward off the bench for the Newcastle Rebels in their clash against the NSW Cup rep team on June 1. He backed up and played the day after for Kurri.
It’s the continuation of a great season for the utility, with his club team also sitting on top of the Newcastle Rugby League ladder.
He’s one of seven Newcastle players chosen in the side, which includes former NRL and current NSW Cup player Omar Slaimankhel at fullback.
