Alchin had a two-week ban reduced to one week on appeal at the Newcastle RL judiciary on Wednesday night.
Kurri Kurri reserves player Dylon Edwards will miss three weeks after unsuccessfully appealing a two-week ban for a high tackle.
Alchin will be a big loss for the Bulldogs who dominated much of last week’s game only to suffer a heart-breaking 24-20 loss with a converted try to Lakes who capitalised on a Bulldogs error coming out of their end.
Kurri almost grabbed the win back with Jarom Haines retrieving the ball from a short kick-off and setting up an attack which saw a pass from Jade Porter go to ground with the try-line open.
Bulldogs coach Ron Griffiths said his team needed to work harder for each other and improve their discipline after conceding 15 penalties.
