The event, which sold out on Friday, will involve authentic German beers, food and fun on September 29.
Licencee Adam Hardy said there was a bit of hype this year after the inaugural event in 2017.
“Maitland loves an event,” he said. “Take Aroma last weekend. It brought people in here and it wasn’t even our event.
Mr Hardy said the venue held an event every month, but Oktoberfest was by far the biggest. “Whether it’s an 80’s party, a 90’s party or Oktoberfest, the events are very well embraced.”
The pub blocked off Lee Street to make way for a German beer garden last year, and recently gained approval from Maitland Council to block off 40 metres of the street again this year.
This year will involve an extra two German beers on tap, wood chopping and games. Mr Hardy said they will also use hay bales as seats again this year, which will then be donated to drought-affected farmers.
