The young Magpies claimed the club’s first minor premiership at under-20 level finishing on top of the table at the end of the season.
However, after beating Hamilton in last year’s grand final, Olympic turned the tables on them this year.
The Magpies are excited about the young talent coming through the 20s, many of whom have already played first grade football.
Senior coach Mick Bolch said nine starters from the under 20s grand final team had been re-signed.
“There’s some good boys coming through, like the Duggans [Adam and Tom], Louis Townsend and Lachlan Yates,” he said.
Yates and Tom Duggan will feature in the Newcastle Jets youth program during the summer.
Maitland’s Zone League was beaten 3-2 by Bolwarra Lorn in the grand final.
Broadmeadow Magic defeated Edgeworth 3-0 in the NPL first grade grand final.
