Toes are set to be tapping across Morpeth this Friday, Saturday and Sunday when musicians participating in the Chapel Jazz Festival converge on the historic town.

The annual event, which attracts fans from far and wide, begins with a gala jazz dinner dance on May 17 at St James Anglican Church Hall. Guests will celebrate the event with a two course meal and dance the night away with tunes by Swingmania. Tickets are $45 each.
The next two days will be filled with free jazz music at some of the town's most prominent locations. The New Orlens Trio and Flying Hi will play at Campbell's Store on Saturday.
There will be a School Bands spectacular in the grounds of the Church of the Immaculate Conception on Sunday. The free entertainment includes a range of performances - Hunter Valley Grammar School juniors will pay from noon until 12.20pm and Hunter Valley School of Performing Arts will play between 1.45pm and 2pm.
