Hosted by the Maitland District Motorcycle Club, it promises to be a huge event for the city and will feature a chance to get up personal with the stars with a Street Eats MX National Edition in the Levee on Friday, July 12 from 5pm to 9pm.
The evening will feature rider signings and a livestream by NRG TV, food trucks and plenty more.
Spectators at Bob Robinson Park on Sunday, July 14 will be treated to a day of elite racing featuring competition across three divisons: MX 1 (elite), MX 2 (next stage) and MX D (entry).
Maitland District Motorcyle Club member Jye Dickson and local compatriot Jy Roberts both ride for Team KTM Raceline but are out injured for round 7.
Other local riders competing include Joel Whiteman, Dylan Wills, Bryson Cherrett, Cooper Pozniak and Dylan Woods.
Hosting a round of the MX Nationals is akin to the motocross version of Supercars coming to town, with a traveling roadshow of 550 credentialled personnel descending on the district for the weekend.
"Economically, the impact is substantial for local business generating upwards of $400,000 for the area," event promoter Kevin Williams said. "We've got elite riders from all over Australia competing as well as New Zealand and the USA.
"When you combine the teams and transports you're looking at a $20million road show."
Todd Waters leads the overall standings by three points with Luke Clout in second place after an eventful round 6 at Gympie on June 23.
After Round 7 the MX Nationals head to Moree on July 28 for round 8 and then finish out the series with a double header at Coolum on the weekend of August 2 and 3.
Bob Robinson Park is located at 60 Kyle Street Rutherford. Practice starts from 8am and racing kicks off at 10am.
Tickets are available at the gate: Adults $30, Kids (5 to 15) $20 and Family (2 adults 2 kids) $70.
