Devine followed a miserly display with the ball (1-16 from four overs) with a crunching undefeated 72 to guide the Strikers past the Renegades' modest 7-117 with 28 balls to spare at Karen Rolton Oval on Saturday.

The impressive Devine faced only 45 balls and belted four sixes in her match-winning knock.

Adelaide's run chase was in early trouble when Renegades spearhead Leah Tahuhu (2-20) produced a double-wicket maiden, having captain and New Zealand teammate Suzie Bates (2) and Tahlia McGrath (0) both caught behind.

Maitlan Brown (2-15) also captured the key scalp of gun West Indian recruit Stafanie Taylor (21) but as long as Devine was in the middle, it was never going to be close.

Taylor had already made her mark with the ball, snaring 3-26 and combining with pace ace Megan Schutt (2-13) to rip the visitors' top-order apart.

The Renegades were reduced to 4-21 after six overs and were still stalling badly at 4-37 at the half-way mark.

Captain Jess Duffin (44) and young wicketkeeper Josie Dooley (20no) made the scoreboard look half-respectable but with Devine in such an aggressive mood, the target never likely to be enough.
