Metford Cobras FC secretary Jodie Hancock has been named as Hunter Valley Football's Newcastle Permanent Volunteer of the Month for September.

Ms Hancock was nominated by the Cobras or her ongoing commitment and dedication to football over a number of years.
Hancock is the club's secretary and was the driving force behind the club playing at all this COVID-affected season. She has ehlped make Cobras FC a happy, fun-filled place to play football has inspired hundreds of other females to kick their own goals on and off the field
As well as playing in Metford's over-35s and All Age women's teams, Ms Hancock has been the club's main organiser in every aspect, every weekend.
She has built an excellent committee and is known as a great communicator and the backbone of the club.
"Finding volunteers as passionate and selfless as Jodie is the goal for all sporting clubs across the country," NNSWF Senior Officer Community Football Ross Hicks said.
"Her contribution has been key in the continued success of the club and it is very pleasing to be able to recognise the effort and hard work Jodie has provided Metford Cobras FC over the years."
Newcastle Permanent Chief Customer Experience and Delivery Officer Paul Juergens congratulated Hancock on becoming the recipient of the Newcastle Permanent Volunteer of the Month Award.
"Newcastle Permanent's Community Football Awards provide opportunities to recognise volunteers who generously give back to their clubs and communities," Mr Juergens said.
"It is wonderful to see a local volunteer being acknowledged for their commitment."
