After months on the market, the well-known Maitland couple have sold their business and will now enjoy a long overdue break.
In fact, the couple have only had 19 days off during their more than 25 years in the newsagent business.
"We would only close on Christmas Day ... now every day will be Christmas Day," Lyn said.
"We will miss out customers, they are more like family after all this time.
"But it's time, we both need a break."
The proud new owners of the High Street business are Sandeep Kumar Konga and Raju Dumala, and their wives Priya and Preethi, and they say they're excited to be part of the Maitland community.
"We saw the shop and it looked really good. We have some big plans for the store," Mr Konga said.
They've spent the past two weeks with the Patfields learning the ropes of the newsagency game - which includes adjusting to their new very early wake ups for the paper runs
Not everyone would volunteer to start their day at 4.30am but the pair said they don't mind.
"It'll take some time to adjust to the bedtimes but it's really good," Mr Konga laughed.
The new business owners have big plans to expand the shop's digital presence as well as new additions instore.
On top of selling magazines and newspapers, there is a paper run which covers Maitland, Lorn, Bolwarra, Largs, Melville and Rosebrook.
