The Maitland Region Society of Artists is holding its annual fund raising exhibition with more than 200 original art works for sale.
Pastels, watercolours, landscapes, oils, portraits - every sort of genre and every type of subject- is represented in the exhibition.
"They are all beautifully presented, ready for hanging in tip top order, and at very reasonable prices," said the society's publicity officer Chris Lucas.
The Maitland Region Society of Artists is a group of enthusiastic artists, painters and sculptors who have been meeting regularly for more than 22 years and currently have around 100 members.
"This fundraiser is an exhibition which benefits a local school and we also have a major competitive exhibition in August in Morpeth," Mr Lucas said.
"We also have the Maitland Portrait prize where a prominent resident sits for the group and receives the winning work and all the portraits are displayed at the East Maitland library."
In the past eight years the group has donated around $26,000 to local schools from the March fundraiser.
The group meets at the Lorn Park Bowling Club once a month for discussion on all things art - upcoming competitions and exhibitions - and are happy to offer critiques on works if requested.
The exhibition opens at Rutherford Public School Hall in Weblands Street tonight, Friday, March 26, from 6pm. The event continues Saturday from 10am to 4pm and Sunday 10am to 3pm.
