On the evidence of the first half of the season, it would appear to be a race in four.
The George Tavern and Club Maitland City are ladder leaders on 21 points with five wins from their six matches, with Hills Solicitors and NVY Comets both with four wins.
From there, there's a two game drop to EMNC Brazen Fitness, Customs House Hotel and Quarry Bar & Grill who all have two wins and four losses, with Flames yet to get off the mark.
The big match this weekend will be the showdown between Hills Solicitors and Comets. Their round one clash was washed out and it will give a good indication of where both sides are at.
Comets have been hit with injuries this season and have yet to field their strongest team, blood a host of young A2 players from Coalfields.
Last weekend there were a couple of thrillers with Club Maitland City only just getting up over the Comets 45-42, while The George was pushed all the way by the young EMNC Brazen Fitness, eventually holding on for a 51-48 win.
