Whatever Pickers coach Matt Lantry said at half time, it sure did the trick.

After a fairly sloppy first half against Wyong last weekend, Maitland was a different side after the break, running in a string of tries to finish comfortable winners 48-6 and retain top spot on the ladder.
It was very much at odds with the first half hour where Wyong opened Maitland's defence a number of times with wily veteran Terrence Seu Seu causing problems on the edge at five-eighth.
The second half demolition was the ideal lead up to this Saturday's much anticipated away clash with Cessnock - the only team to lower Maitland's colours this season when they won 24-22 at Maitland Sports Ground in round three.
With a strong showing from their middle forwards - Jayden Butterfield, James Taylor and Sam Anderson have been outstanding all season - half Brock Lamb was pulling the strings, having a hand in a host of Maitland's eight tries.
Brothers Alex and Daniel Langbridge, at hooker and fullback, were always dangerous and, after a couple of games where he was below his best, five-eighth Chad O'Donnell is getting back to somewhere near his top form.
Centre Jarom Haines showed flashes of his attacking best but probably didn't get as much ball as he'd like to really test the Wyong defence out wide.
And on the other side James Bradley's pace was a constant thorn for the tiring Wyong defence.
If the Pickers can bring Haines into the attack more, along with the bullocking runs of Pat Mata'utia on the edge, they're going to be a handful for any defence.
In fact, they already are, as their for-and-against shows.
From their 10 games the Pickers have chalked up 375 points while conceding just 102. The points differential of 273 is easily the competition's best - next best is Macquarie with 106.
One of the pleasing aspects was that due to a couple of injuries, coach Lantry had no hesitation in throwing a couple of local juniors into the action.
Back rower Tom Cant worked tirelessly all game and in the second half Noah Nailagoliva made his first grade debut and looked right at home.
