"I have spoken with Alex (his wife) and we have both agreed to start planning and training for Paris 2024. With 1090 days till I can really show the world who Dan Repacholi is," Repacholi posted on Facebook.
At his fifth Olympics, Repacholi competed in the 10m men's air pistol and the inaugural mixed event with Dina Aspandiyarova.
He said he shot well in the men's event but was unlucky with the score.
"In my first match the process and match strategy was great for the whole match. I was just very unlucky with many 9.9s, unfortunately that was the story from my first event," he posted.
"I was happy with the shoot just disappointed in the score.
"The biggest thing that I took from this event was the fact that I know I can compete with these professional shooters.
"I took this outlook into the teams event with Dina. In this event we showed the world that Australia is not just there to make up the numbers and made it through to the semifinals in sixth spot.
"Unfortunately we came out equal sixth and missed out on the bronze medal match by four points.
"We did our best that we could on the day and that's all anyone can ask for."
Repacholi, 39, has discounted the prospect of competing in the Brisbane 2032 Olympics.
"I've been asked so many time if I'm going to still be competing when the Olympics are in Brisbane in 2032. My honest answer is I don't think so," he said.
He said he was looking to finishing off his quarantine and spending some quality time with his family and returning to work.
