Lill secured spots in the $40,000 Newcastle feature courtesy of heat winners More Sauce and Casual Glance, however, John Finn's runner stopped the clock at 29.24 seconds.
Next best from Friday's preliminary rounds at the same track were More Sauce (29.40s) and Casual Glance (29.44s), having later bookended the final box draw at one and eight respectively.
Zipping Kyrgios, joined in the 2021 showdown by kennelmate Zipping Alabama (29.69s), has been allocated lane five.
The remaining heat winner Zulu Warlord (29.63s), which took out this year's Bathurst Cup, will start from box four.
Ritza William (29.95s), Pay Call (29.48s) and Artic Kingdom (29.57s) round out the field, wearing rugs three, six and seven respectively.
Battling Mavis and Mr Beethoven are the emergencies.
