The ballot paper for the Maitland City Council election has been drawn and includes 19 candidates on the campaign trail.
Maitland is broken up into four wards including North, East, Central and West.
The mayoral candidates include incumbent Mayor Loretta Baker (Labor), Ben Mitchell (Liberal), Philip Penfold (Penfold Independent), Brian Burke (Independent), John Brown (Greens), Michael Cooper (Independent) and Shahriar 'Sean' Safari (Independent).
The ballot draw took place last week and the candidates are (in ballot paper order):

- Bill Hackney (Penfold Independent)

- Brian Burke (Independent)

- Ben Mitchell (Liberal)

The local government elections, which includes 124 councils, will be held across NSW on Saturday, December 4, after being postponed twice due to the COVID pandemic. Pre-poll will begin on Monday, November 22 and end on Friday, December 3.
It is mandatory for everyone over the age of 18 years old to vote.
