PLAYER OF THE ROUND: Chad Warner was simply dazzling in Sydney's 52-point thumping of Carlton. Warner tallied 28 disposals, three goals, three goal assists and 561m gained. His swift side-stepping embarrassed Blues players at times.
THE MOMENT: Did Izak Rankine run too far? With 22 seconds remaining and Adelaide down by four points, Rankine collected the ball on the wing, sprinted forward, took a bounce, and sprinted some more before pumping the ball into attack. But the umpire deemed Rankine had run too far, granting Collingwood a free kick that allowed them to see out the win. Special mention to Port's Darcy Byrne-Jones for his match-winning soccered goal against Hawthorn with two seconds remaining, and Harley Reid's three-bounce goal-of-the-year contender against Melbourne.
TALKING POINT: Ross Lyon's honeymoon period on return to St Kilda is well and truly over after a fifth loss from their last six games. A 17-point defeat to Lyon's former club Fremantle left the Saints with a 3-7 record and a huge mountain to climb if they are to repeat last year's effort by playing finals again this season.
STAT THAT MATTERS: 12 - that's the sum of points that have separated Adelaide and Collingwood over their past four games against each other. The Magpies have come up trumps on each occasion - by five points, one point, two points, and four points. Five of the past six games between the two sides have been decided by five points or less, with the only anomaly a 42-point win to the Pies in 2022.

Luke Parker is expected to cop a hefty suspension for an off-the-ball bump in the VFL that sent his opponent to hospital.
