The Saints were again led up forward by Rob Eddy with three goals while clever midfielder Jim Taranto also got three majors.
But the victory was built on a strong defensive effort, with Mark Curran leading his young charges Chris Claridge, Lucas Sargent and Mitch Greaves.
Midfield runner Luke Damico continued his rich vein of form and was joined in the Saints’ best by Julian Graham.
At the other end of the Hunter Valley, the Saints’ second division team battled gamely but lost 13-12 (90) to 3-3 (21).
