The Saints travelled to Muswellbrook last weekend for the annual carnival and came away with two wins and two losses.
Saints coach Dave Moore said it was difficult to gauge too much from the games as several leading players were unavailable and temperatures nudged 40 degrees.
“We got to see players in different roles and it was my first chance to see some of them in a competitive game.
“I was impressed by Cameron Mitchell, Mitch Greaves and Aiden and Luke Damico.”
Moore said the Saints will be strengthened with the inclusion of BDAFL rep players Wade Beard, Jimmy Taranton and Patrick McMahon when they travel to Penrith.
