The State Emergency Services is holding this day in partnership with the local Rural Fire Service, Fire and Rescue NSW and NRMA on Sunday, September 15 ready for the upcoming bushfire and storm season.
Get Ready is a free annual event happening every September.
Its purpose is to prepare the public for all possible dangers while still making it a fun experience.
"We are aiming to try making this day as entertaining and educational as possible so future generations will be prepared in all their endeavours," Maitland SES Unit community engagement officer Alex Varley said.

Throughout the day, visitors will be educated on how to properly prepare in case of emergency with fun activities and talks.
There are seven simple steps you can do now to prepare yourself now and those are:
1. Secure or put away loose items around your yard or balcony
2. Trim overhead tree branches
3. Clean your gutters and downpipes regularly
4. Check that your roof is in good repair
5. Make sure your insurance is up to date
6. Prepare an emergency kit
7. And check in your neighbours regularly
The fete will have delicious food such as a warm sausage sandwiches and stalls selling refreshing beverages for everyone.
It will be located at 20 Waterworks Road in Rutherford so make sure to come down.
The SES is a volunteer based emergency and rescue service committed to helping the community in threatening situations.
While the SES is usually for flood and storm emergencies, they are also trained to provide assistance in road accident rescues, vertical rescues, bush search and rescues and much more.
