According to the Bureau of Meteorology, showers are tipped to hang around for the rest of the week, across the weekend and into next week and on most days temperatures will struggle to reach the high 20s.
While our temperatures appear to be low, humidity is expected to remain high with Tuesday recording 98% humidity.
At 4pm Tuesday, Maitland had recorded 21.6mm of rain.
The Bureau's weather observations for the city show that Maitland has received a total of 54.6mm of rain to December 15 this year compared to .6mm for the month of December last year.
The forecast for the rest of the week is: Wednesday 9 - 29, Thursday 20 - 29, Friday 20 to 33, Saturday 18 - 21, Sunday 16 - 23, Monday 16 - 26 and Tuesday 18 - 26. Showers are forecast on each of these days.
