Ms Swanson's office has received a number of complaints from residents in both suburbs relating to delivery delays as well as some residents not receiving mail at all.
"My staff have made several inquires to Australia Post because people in Lochinvar say they are just not getting their mail," Ms Swanson said.
"They are missing out on rate notices, electricity bills, phone bills, financial statements. One fellow did not receive his trailer registration and was fined $700.

"I hope the CEO of Australia Post is able to intervene and sort this out."
The letter details numerous complaints from local community members including one resident who contacted Ms Swanson's office in November, 2021 because they had not received their council rates, electricity and insurance bills in July/August, 2021. The resident later didn't receive any post for 12 days, according to the letter. Another complained about not receiving registration for a vehicle and was later fined $700 for not paying it.
The Maitland Mercury contacted Australia Post about the concerns raised about the delivery services in Lochinvar and Farley.
A spokesperson for Australia Post said the organisation is aware of "some of the concerns" in the Hunter communities.
"Australia Post is aware of some concerns raised by several residents in Lochinvar and Farley, regarding mail they have been expecting that has either not been received or has been received later than anticipated," the spokesperson said.
"Through our local delivery managers, we have contacted residents who have raised concerns, and we have implemented a series of tests and monitors to gain insight into any issues and opportunities for improvement.
"While this investigation is continuing, we will implement any learnings regarding processes.
"Customers with concerns about their deliveries are encouraged to get in touch with us via our digital channels or 13 POST (13 7678) for help and support."
