The Rams beat University 3-0 in the Hunter Coast Premier Hockey League on Sunday after recording a 5-2 victory over the students in a catch up match in Newcastle on Friday night.
In Basketball NSW Waratah Championship League the Mustangs made it a pair of wins on the road with a 99-86 result against Penrith today sitting alongside Saturday night's 97-92 result against Hills.
But it was a tougher day for the Maitland Magpies, who went down 3-0 to Broadmeadow at Magic Park in the Northern NSW Football National Premier League.
SATURDAY: Queens Arms notched up their first win of the Maitland netball season on Saturday while the Blacks and Bulldogs were also triumphant.
Queens Arms defeated Flashbacks 39-32 in their rescheduled first round game at Maitland Park netball courts while in the other A-grade fixtures defending champions Hills Solicitors defeated LJ Hooker 55-31 and George Tavern accounted for Family Hotel 39-31.
Over at Marcellin Park and the Maitland Blacks proved too strong for Singleton in Newcastle and Hunter Rugby Union with a 49-12 victory.
In the Newcastle Rugby League the Kurri Kurri Bulldogs beat top of the table Lakes 34-28 at Cahill Oval while the Maitland Pickers went down 23-16 to Coalfields rivals Cessnock at Cessnock.
In the Northern NSW Football National Premier League the Weston Bears lost a grand final replay against Lambton Jaffas 4-3 at Arthur Edden Oval.
And the Maitland Mustangs snapped a five-game losing streak to knock over Hills Hornets 97-92 on the road.
PREVIOUS: The region's motor stars are hitting tracks across the nation, it's Coalfields action with the Pickers taking on Cessnock and the Mustangs are trying to get their season back on track.
If that isn't enough the Bulldogs play Lakes away, the Blacks are at home to arch-rivals Singleton, the Saints will be be looking to push their finals credentials against Killarney Vale and netball pits former clubmates LJ Hooker and Hills Solicitors against each other.
