A MAN has suffered abdominal injuries after being crushed by a two-tonne van he was working on at Rutherford.
An Ambulance Service of NSW spokesman said paramedics were called to Rebecca Close about 9.20am to reports a vehicle had fallen on top of the man.
The man, 62, had suffered injuries to his “upper abdomen and lower ribcage’’.
His condition was not immediately known.
The Hunter Westpac rescue helicopter was called to nearby Norm Chapman Oval where it was due to fly the injured man to John Hunter Hospital for treatment.
A helicopter spokesman later reported the man had been working on the van at his Rutherford residence when it “rolled onto him pinning [him] by the chest’’.
