And, its return to Maitland Gaol on the weekend will be no exception to the rule.
Maitland City Council events coordinator Adam Franks said the 2017 event would include a record 19 brewers.
“We’ll have more than 100 beers on tap,” he said, adding it was a great opportunity for beer lovers to meet the people behind the brews.
“For us that’s pretty amazing.
“We have a few new brewers coming, including Yeastie Boys and Hobo Brewing.”
The organisation team was in the final stages of set up on Thursday, in preparation for a sold out day on Saturday.
Those who haven’t secured a ticket don’t need to worry about missing out.
Sunday passes are still available, but selling quickly.
After grabbing a drink or two and a bite to eat, festival fans can enjoy the fantastic music on offer.
Architecture in Helsinki will headline on Sunday, supported by I Know Leopard, Cope Street Parade and Caitlin Harnett.
To top it all off, there will be an added twist on the annual affair – food and beer matching classes.
Mr Franks said the annual affair brought people from across Maitland, NSW, and Australia – not to mention the international visitors.
”It also highlights one of our landmarks,” he said regrading the gaol.
“In 11 years we have [earned] quite a good reputation.
“Those who haven’t booked can jump on our website.”
Other program highlights include home brew master classes, blind tastings, and meet the brewer sessions.
Mr Franks said rail would be the best form of transport for festival-goers, and encouraged people to use the train service to East Maitland.
There will not be any specific gluten free beer at the festival. However, there will be multiple cider options and wineries for those who are unable to consume gluten.
