Bands from around the world will perform the song at 5pm EADT, in line with when the Armistice agreement was signed to end World War I at 6am on November 11, 1918.
About six members of the local band will gather in Maitland Park to pay their respects through the music.
City of Maitland Pipes and Drums Pipe Major Ian Innes said it was important to honour the momentous anniversary.
“We need to recognise these men and women who have gone to war and given their life for this country,” he said. “There’s no use having 11/11 if people ignore it.”
The band will also lay a wreath at the morning ceremony in Maitland Park and will have banners displaying poppies on the top of their bagpipes and drums as a special tribute.
Mr Innes encouraged all members of the public to attend the performance.
