Police are investigating a number of licence plate thefts in Maitland, including one where a pair of plates was stolen and later found on a crashed car at Belmont and a vehicle at Charlestown.

Both plates were stolen from a Ford Ranger at the Victoria Street Railway Station at East Maitland at 8.25pm Friday.
One was found on a car that crashed into a house at Belmont and the other was located on a vehicle at Charlestown.
Both plates were also taken from a black Toyota Hilux at Gymea Place, Thornton between 4pm Saturday and 12.30pm Sunday while a black Holden Commodore was also targeted on Woodberry Road, Woodberry between 5pm Thursday and 3am Friday.
