Western Suburbs skipper Mitchell Fisher believes the winner of the cup will come from the semi-final between the Plovers and Warriors and it will be Kurri Weston if Wests do not curb Tuckwell early and cheaply.
“Tucky is the most dangerous batsman in the competition, but if you can get him early you have a chance of beating Kurri Weston,” Fisher said.
“Even then they bat well down their order and have lots of big-hitters.
“I think whoever wins our semi-final will win the title. Norths and Terrace haven’t been in great form of late.”
Wests meet Kurri Weston in the first semi-final at Lorn Park from 10am, while Norths take on Raymond Terrace at Robins Oval.
Northern Suburbs all-rounder Lincoln Mills said the more relaxed format of Twenty20 may be just the tonic Norths need to snap out of a form slump.
The winner of the two matches will meet in the final at Lorn Park from 2pm.
