Manning the helm are business partners Steven Forbes and Barton Smith who believe a little love will go a long way for the iconic Church Street pub with "great old bones".
"We love old pubs, and this is a primary example of something beautiful," Mr Forbes said. "We love being embedded in the community, and this pub seems like it is a big part of Maitland."
Forbes and Smith might seem like familiar faces, and they are. They are the masterminds behind Newcastle's Family Hotel and pop-up Valerie's Pizza Parlor.
While a few things have changed in the 103-year-old venue including a fresh lick of paint and a new commercial kitchen, the old girl still holds its grungy art decor style. And if you're wondering what's on the new menu, think 15-inch pizzas loaded with toppings, potato gems with liquid cheese and gravy, or even deep fried magnums with chocolate sauce.
But make no mistake, the new management team are firm that the venue will remain the city's hub for live entertainment.
"Live music is definitely going to stay. It's a staple for this venue and it's seeped in a lot of its history," Mr Smith said.
In fact, former publican Melissa Quinn will be staying on as the booking agent which the management team hopes will reassure patrons the pub will continue as the stand-out live music venues.
Mr Forbes says their approach is all about keeping it simple - live music, good food and cold beers.
"It's a whole package deal," he said.
So how does the new team plan to say hello to Maitland? Well, according to Mr Forbes, the only fitting way is a big party.
The Grand Junction will be relaunched with live music washed down alongside free food and drinks on Friday, March 1 from 5pm.
"We'd also like to thank the Roose family for driving live music," Mr Smith added.
"We are really excited to be in Maitland.
"From what we've seen from the community it's a really great place."
