The sub-division will be developed on the Aird's of Lochinvar site bounded by the New England Highway and Christopher Road. Planners have recommended the development for approval.
The application was originally lodged as a masterplan and subsequently amended to the current design.
A planner's report said the existing access to the Aird's building would be used to gain access to the sub-division as an interim measure until new traffic signals are constructed at the intersection of the highway and Wyndella Road.
The Mercury reported in November 2016 how the traffic lights will be installed by the Roads and Maritime Service following a State Government grant of $11 million to the city, part of the State's Housing Acceleration Fund.
The site has been used for grazing purposes, being predominantly cleared and fenced into paddocks. It is proposed to construct the subdivision in seven stages.
