The four-year delivery program focuses on the revitalisation of the Maitland city centre, with a $164.4 million draft operational budget for 2019/20.
"The Delivery Program 2018-2021 identifies the outcomes that council will achieve over its term to support the delivery of Maitland +10, our community's vision for the future of the city," a council report said.
"Each year of the delivery program is supported by an annual operational plan that details the actions that will be taken during the financial year, along with a detailed budget and revenue policy, including fees and charges.
"It includes an ambitious capital works program, as well as the continued delivery of key infrastructure projects for the city."
Over the next financial year council's draft operating budget will be $164.4 million. Key aspects of this include the delivery of a capital works budget of $30.3 million, the management of $153.5 million in investments and the employment of up to 461 employees.
The next financial year will also see the continued delivery of around $75 million in projects including the Cessnock Road Cycleway, Maitland Regional Athletics Centre, Maitland Sports Hub expansion and upgrade, Queens Wharf Morpeth stage one, Athel D'Ombrain Drive stage two, Waste Transfer Station and City Administration Centre.
If adopted, the report will be exhibited for public consideration from April 11 to May 15. "The community is encouraged to provide feedback through the variety of channels available," the report said.
A further report will be presented to council following the consultation period.
