Police have hit the roads for Operation Merrett and Operation Compliance, which are both targeting drivers for illegal activity.
Operation Compliance 3 is a one-day blitz taking place on Wednesday. Police are looking for line crossing offences, restraint issues and other unauthorised driving offences.
Operation Merrett kicked off on Sunday and runs for 12 weeks. The operation is targeting drink driving, meaning there will be more stationed and mobile random breath testing on the city's roads in the next few months.
It comes after a law change on July 1 meaning anyone caught drink driving - even low range - will lose their licence on the spot for three months.
Both road operations are being held across the state.
