Since January, the Say No To Farley Crematorium group has been campaigning against the $3.2 million proposal.
Now with council issuing a new period of feedback on the proposal, the residents are calling for a second wave of united protest.
Residents Geoff and Barbara Bright believe there could be a number of negatives impacts from the proposed crematorium including possible impacts on residents health.
The pair also added they had concerns over traffic with the increased number of vehicles around the development.
Mr Bright said Maitland Council needed to have an allocated area for a crematorium, and not in an existing community's backyard.
"We need people to not sit back and wait until they've got the smell and emissions," he said.
"We need an area earmarked by council for a crematorium."
The proposed $3.2 million development, from Fry Brothers, would involve the construction of a 300-capacity chapel, 5000-plot cemetery and memorial gardens with 10,000 niche capacity on Old North Road.
The reopening of the proposal comes after council received additional information from the applicant, according to a council spokeswoman.
"Council received 102 submissions during the original public exhibition period and until the current exhibition period closes and submissions are reviewed, it is not possible to confirm when the application will be reported to Council for determination," the council spokeswoman said.
Submissions close on November 26, and people can give feedback by visiting the Maitland City Council website.
