Kurri Weston skipper Power's maiden century saved his side from being routed by a Shane Wind inspired Tenambit Morpeth.

Power made 109 of the Warriors' total of 177 before being becoming Wind's sixth victim of the game, which was evenly poised with the Bulls 2/39 in reply after 19 overs.

Michael Gates with 30 was the only other Warriors batsman to make double figures.

Alex Seamer made just one but was an unlikely hero with the bat sticking around in a 37-run partnership to allow Power to score his first century in any level of grade cricket.

"I was 74 when Al Seamer came out and we put on 37 for the last wicket, so that was huge for Al to hang around with me. I bought him a couple of beers last night," Power said.

"I was really sweating on whether I would get the ton. I was stuck on 98 for about four overs and just couldn't get them away.

"I'm just so pleased Alex hung around as it's nice to get that first century. The best I'd had before was a 90 in second grade."

Power said Shane Wind bowled straight through in an incredible effort to finish with 6-66 from 30.1 overs, including nine maidens.

"We didn't throw out wickets away, they bowled pretty well. Rowdy (Shane Wind) was just hard to get away just on the spot and he bowled unchanged," he said.

"The pitch was a bit up and down and 180 will be competitive for us. A couple of wickets early next week and we will be right in it.

"With the brand new ball it was probably the best time to bat, it was coming on nicely but as the day wore on the pitch got a bit more up and down."

Power said two wickets to Dylan Rumble at the end had the game evenly poised.

"Two big wickets at the end were important for us. Adam Sidoti (29 not out) will be the big one next week. He is tough to get out.

"A couple of early wickets will be important to give us the momentum to get them out and collect our second win."
