In news today: Historic cottage in heritage precinct marked for demolition
A police statement said the decorative rifles, which are more than 100 years old, are believed to have been taken from the building between Saturday, November 9 and Monday, November 11.
The firearms are relics of the Boer War and were donated to the Maitland Council in 1905.
"These rifles have great historic value," the police statement said.
