Twenty four pre-schoolers donning high visibility gear and safety glasses, may have looked a little out of place at a local high school recently.
The group from St Nick's Early Education Centre, recently experienced the magic of science during a visit to St Joseph's College, Lochinvar.
The children, also known as the Zooper Doopers, gathered for an exciting science experiment which resulted in a colourful finish and plenty of smiles.
It was an exciting day in the lab for the youngsters who met with St Joseph's science teacher Jess Brunton who facilitated the hour-long event - part of the Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) program at St Nick's.
The pre-schoolers were met at the St Joseph's front gate and participated in a short acknowledgement of country.
After watching a demonstration of a large volume of liquid completely change colour after the addition of one clear drop of another liquid, a discussion opened on the difference between science and magic.
Then with a little audience participation the pre-schoolers stacked three different coloured liquids on top of each other to make "traffic lights".
