A man has received a two year community correction order after pleading guilty to his involvement in a Monday morning fight in Maitland CBD.

Byron Downes, 40, was charged over the melee which broke out near Maitland Train Station in front of several bystanders about 11.45am Monday.
Two other men, aged 18 and 41, were issued court attendance notices in relation to the incident.
Police said it began with a verbal altercation which carried on along Church Street and turned violent near the intersection of Olive Street with biting and punches thrown.
Downes was arrested and charged with affray and behaving in an offensive manner.
He pleaded guilty in Maitland Local Court on Tuesday and was sentenced to the community corrections order.
