Head and Heart Mindfulness, founded by former school teacher Kylie Humphreys, will officially launch the books at Maitland Park on Saturday morning.
The first book is 'Be Calm, Be Happy - The 30 Day Mindfulness Workbook' with separate versions for women and kids, and the third is a Gratitude Journal. The business plans to publish a men's workbook next year.
The workbooks are based upon Head and Heart's school program, which is taught to more than 30 preschools and primary schools each term, with different focuses for varying age groups.
Mindfulness can become a language the whole family speaks.
- Kylie Humphreys
The women's version is aimed at not only helping adults become calm and improving their wellbeing, but giving them the tools to help their little ones as well.
"It's the idea of putting on your own oxygen mask before helping with others," Head and Heart Mindfulness assistant manager Brooke Vitnell said.
"We want to help kids nurture those life skills," Ms Humphreys said. "Mindfulness can become a language the whole family speaks."
Ms Humphreys said the idea behind the books was to reach a wider community than just the children who participate in the Head and Heart school program.
The workbook involves different activities and strategies to complete over 30 days - the optimum time for an activity to become a habit.
The journal is for writing down things one is grateful for, which Ms Vitnell said helps to release chemicals from the brain and creates a pop of happiness each day.
The books were self-published while the design was completed by Creative Kind Design's Sarah Thompson. Prominent wellbeing advocates Maggie Dent and Allison Davies also provided testimonials.
The women said they were extremely excited to be able to share the concept with others at a particularly relevant time with many people going through changes in the New Year.
The book launch will be held at Maitland Park from 9.30am-10.30am with a free mindfulness session at 10am.
The workbooks are $30 each and the journals are $20, but there are bundle prices as well. The books will be available to buy on the launch day, or for those who can't make it - they can be purchased on the website: www.headandheartmindfulness.com.au.
