Gallery coordinator Kattie Bugeja said the month-long festival of fun and creativity provides gateway to MRAG for new residents and visitors to Maitland.
"It's not just for kids," Ms Bugeja said. "There are exhibitions and activities for all ages, whether you are 0 or 100, you will find something to see-make-do at MRAG.
"This will be sixth Free Art January since it began in January 2015.
"The month-long engagement program has continued to be one of the Gallery's signature public programs, with attendances in excess of 30,000 over the January period since 2015. "
Some of this year's highlights include slithery reptiles, zine making, dance, clay play, yoga plus our incredible art tutors are back with more creative play.
All activities are free and open to all ages. For more information about Free Art January, visit mrag.org.au/whats-on/free-art-january/.
