A 17-year-old boy has been charged over an alleged robbery near Metford Railway Station in which a commuter was threatened and assaulted.

The commuter was getting off the train on January 1 when he was approached by three juveniles.
The commuter was then threatened, assaulted and robbed of $70 cash and a watch.
Police were contacted and commenced an investigation into the alleged incident.
Following inquiries, Port Stephens Hunter police arrested a 17-year-old boy from Metford on Saturday afternoon.
He was charged with robbery in company and is due to appear before a Hunter children's court later this month.
