Hosted by Maitland City Library, the 'All About Women' satellite sessions - straight from the Sydney Opera House - will examine questions on gender, justice and equality.
"It is a pleasure to host such a stimulating series of discussions in Maitland," mayor Loretta Baker said.
"All About Women always presents a thought provoking and engaging program that provides new perspectives and gives voice to many women."
All About Women is a festival which has been hosted by Sydney Opera House since 2013.
Sessions on offer to local audiences include Gina Rippon, the author of the ground breaking book 'The Gendered Brain', astrophysicist Jo Dunkley with 'The Forgotten Women of Astronomy' and journalist Jill Stark on our relationship with alcohol in discussion with Yumi Stynes and Shanna Whan.
University of Newcastle Associate Professor Trisha Pender, who lectures English, will facilitate audience discussion between the live streams.
Dr Pender has active research interests in early modern literature, feminist literary history and theory, and contemporary popular culture.
All About Women is a free event presented by Maitland City Library and run from 10.30am to 4pm on Sunday, Marhc 8.
