A Metford woman has been charged after she allegedly attempted to break into an East Maitland home in broad daylight.

A police report said the 41-year-old woman allegedly attempted to gain entry to a home on Monday, June 8.
The female occupant of the home was present at the time of the offence and the entire incident was captured on CCTV.
The victim and her husband contacted Port Stephens Hunter police after they realised that they did not know her, and that she had tried a number of doors to enter the property.
A number of investigative opportunities were utilised in order to identify the woman and she was subsequently arrested at her Metford home.
She was then taken to Maitland Police Station and charged with break and enter dwelling house and enter prescribed premises of a person without lawful excuse.
The woman is currently bail refused and waiting for a court appearance at Maitland Local Court.
