Todd Ramsey Woods faced Newcastle District Court on Thursday, where he was given a sentencing date of November 12.
Woods previously pleaded guilty in the Local Court to seven counts of an aggravated act of indecency against a person aged under 16 years old who was under his authority.
The crimes relate to the abuse of a teenage girl he coached in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
The 58-year-old, who now lives in the Sydney suburb of Kellyville, ran a popular tennis coaching business in the East Maitland area.
According to court documents, the abuse involved instances of Woods inciting the girl to touch his genitals and massage his thigh and groin area.
The victim reported Woods' abuse to police in July 2017.
After an investigation, detectives charged him in July 2020.
